Blog changes

Thanks to everyone who followed Training Because I Can! over the last nine years. This blog started with Addison's Disease, hypothyroidism and a crazy idea of doing an Ironman distance triathlon. My life has changed and so has this blog. I am using this blog strictly for Addison's Support topics from here on out. I hope to continue providing people with hints for living life well with adrenal insufficiency.

2011 Cure Alzheimer's Run

On Wednesday last week, I had an awesome opportunity to spend some time with transcontinental runner Glenn Caffery.  We met up at the local soda shop, the Victor Emporium.  Here he had the house specialty, a huckleberry shake, and was simultaneously interviewed by Annie Eby from the Teton Valley News.  When the shake and interview were done, Glen and I started out running.  Even after a 6,700 foot pass and 30+ miles of running that day, he kicked my ass and we power walked for a little bit and chatted.  What a nice guy!!  Here's a link to Annie's story:  Man on the Run

Glenn is running across the northern part of the US to raise money for Alzheimer's research.  You can support him by running with him, helping him with his route, cheering him on, following him on Twitter, donating to Cure Alzheimer's Fund and I'll bet he'd love a home cooked meal if he was stopping in your town!!  His website is www.alzrun.org Check it out!

Thanks Glenn for the opportunity to meet you!  Best of luck to you on your run!
